Perfect Town Status Update

Tomorrow, I will finally get my Golden Watering Can. I can't wait to be able to water 9 flowers at once! During the past 14 days, I have only spawned two Jacob's Ladders. I would ideally like to have more (I have 4 total because I bought 2), but I want to cut down some of the trees in my town, and that would affect my perfect town status. Decisions, decisions...

Mossy Path and Mossy Tile

Here are my two latest path patterns: the Mossy Path and the Mossy Tile.

You can combine them in an alternating pattern to create a beautiful 2 square wide path of stone tiles with soft moss growing in between.

You could also use these as flooring for your home. They go nicely with a
greenhouse/garden theme.

Top Turnip Tips

Tomorrow is Sunday, and that can only mean one thing on Animal Crossing; its time to buy turnips! Navigating the ins and outs of the Stalk Market can be a little tricky for those new to Animal Crossing, so this guide is here to help! Though buying stock and making a profit in the real world might take a lot of knowledge and work, the process is very simple in the world of Animal Crossing. The Stalk Market is actually easy to use.

What are turnips?

Turnips are a root vegetable used as a form of stock in Animal Crossing. You can buy them from Joan on Sundays. They can then be sold at Re-Tail the rest of the week in order to make a profit.

One important thing to understand about turnips is they are sold in bunches of ten, so although the turnips in your pocket say 10 in the little circle at the bottom right of the turnip icon, it is really 100 turnips.

Turnips spoil after one week, or if you time travel backwards (but will remain unaffected if you time travel forward, unless you travel farther than a week).

Turnip Prices

Every Sunday, Joan will be selling turnips in your town. The price that you buy them at is different each Sunday. They usually range from 90 -115 bells, though they have been known to be lower or higher at times.

Every day, except Sunday, Reese at Re-Tail will tell you how much she is buying turnips for that day. There are two prices every day: from the store opening to 12 pm, and from 12 pm to the store closing. The price won't fluctuate much within the day, but it is good to keep in mind that if you ask about turnip prices in the morning, and sell your turnips at night, then the prices will have changed slightly.

Your turnip prices will reach the highest price Thursdays, so if you only bother to check your turnip prices once a week, make sure it is on Thursday.

Making a Profit

The goal of the Stalk Market is to sell your turnips to Reese at a higher price than you paid Joan for them. That said, you won't make much of a profit if you only buy 1 bunch of turnips. The best way to make a profit is to invest most of your bells in them and hope that you get lucky and the prices go up. However, if you have a large group of friends who play Animal Crossing or frequent a forum with other Animal Crossing players, such as the Gamers' Community Forums, there is no luck involved whatsoever. You are pretty much guaranteed to make a profit if you have access to other people's towns. Just ask around to see if anyone has good turnip prices.

If you have access to other people's towns, don't sell your turnips unless the prices are over 300 bells. If you don't have access to other people's towns, take whatever you can get. I strongly suggest joining a forum, even if it is only to sell turnips.

You can make millions just from selling your turnips. No real work required.

So the big question... how many do I buy?

How many turnips you buy depends on how many bells you have and how much storage space you have. I would buy as many as you can reasonably fit into your closets, house, museum rooms, and the closets of any extra characters that you might have. As long as you have access to other people's towns, you are guaranteed to make a profit. I will say though, that selling turnips can be kind of boring, so make sure you have the willpower to sell what you buy.

To Conclude...

Turnips are a great investment, and I highly recommend playing the Stalk Market. You could make millions of bells by just buying and selling them. If you are low on bells, I suggest making a trip to the island after 5 pm and catching the beetles that appear on the palm trees so that you can invest the bells into Stalk, but that is a guide for another time. With that, I wish you luck in your Stalk Marketing.
